Lift Refurbishment Contract

Following a competitive tendering exercise, Guideline Lift Services was awarded the Lift Refurbishment Contract for seven lifts over a phased three year period.

During the works which involved the major reconstruction of two passenger lifts and five goods passenger lifts, the centre continued to operate normally and disruption needed to be minimised.

The lifts were modernised sequentially programmed to avoid busy periods leading up to Christmas and New Year peak times.

Each lift underwent a major reconstruction and only Guide rails and counterweights were retained. All new equipment was specified to a high standard to achieve a 25-year life cycle and be durable enough for the harsh environment.

Guideline Lift Services was appointed as principle contractor under the CDM regulations and all builders work were included to complete the project.
