The Royal Garden Hotel: Lift Modernisation, Kensington High St.
The existing ‘back of house’ lift was traditionally used by staff for the movement of linen and baggage. The Hotel had identified a need for access to some parts of the building for guests with mobility difficulties and it was decided to upgrade the goods lift to meet the Equality Act along with a general modernisation of the original 1970’s equipment.
Guideline secured the contract to comprehensively modernize the lift to provide a further 25 year life.
As part of this exercise a new machine and VVVF drive system was installed, door equipment replaced and the lift car completely upgraded. All new safety components were incorporated to comply fully with EN81-80.
The project was completed within the operational Hotel and was commissioned ahead of program and on budget prior to the busy Christmas period.
All associated builders works were included to provide a ‘Turn-Key’ project.
Noisy works which were necessary to remove concrete padstones were scheduled for periods when adjacent hotel rooms were unoccupied.
All equipment utilized was of proven generic type manufactured by independent companies within the UK.
